🇳🇴 Intermediary AS has been awarded market clarification support from Innovation Norway. In June 2023 we received NOK 100,000 in funding for phase 1 of our market clarification project — an important step on the road to industrialising automated company registration across the EU/EEA.
The award in brief
- Awarded by: Innovation Norway
- Scheme: Market clarification support (phase 1)
- Amount: NOK 100,000
- Awarded: June 2023
- Recipient: Intermediary AS
What market clarification support is
Market clarification support from Innovation Norway is an early-stage funding scheme that helps innovative companies investigate and verify the market for a new product or service. The funding covers concrete activities such as market research, customer interviews, piloting, partner clarifications and willingness-to-pay analyses. It is, in other words, a structured way to validate that a real market exists — before scaling up.
What we used the funding for
For Intermediary AS, phase 1 was a systematic effort to clarify the market for automated company registration — with Norway as the starting point and Denmark as the first pilot corridor:
- Customer interviews with foreign founders who had already attempted to establish themselves in Norway.
- Market research on existing service providers, regulatory requirements and the digital surfaces of the public authorities.
- Technical clarifications around AML/KYC, eIDAS/QES, D-numbers, organisation numbers and VAT registration.
- Partner dialogue with accounting firms and legal practices — the foundation for later scalable operations.
- Price and willingness-to-pay analysis in the Danish and Norwegian SME segment.
The result was submitted as a formal market clarification report documenting method, findings and the way forward.
Why this matters
A public grant from Innovation Norway is not just capital — it is also a clear signal:
- Our concept is assessed as innovative by a professional team that reviews hundreds of applications each year.
- The market we address is verified as real through a structured method.
- We have a documented process that can later be reused with investors, partners and new markets.
The award also became a foundation for later validation: the patentability review by the Norwegian Patent Office, the Zenodo/CERN publication, the launch of registercompany.no, the EuroQuity listing with InvestEU and EIC Partner labels, and the Made in Norway certification that followed in 2026.
Thank you
Thank you to Innovation Norway for the trust, and to all customers, partners, accounting firms and legal practices that contributed during this phase. Without the structure that market clarification provided, the rest of the journey would have looked different.
